The Stirrer’s first in a regular series of podcasts covering Blind Dave Heeley’s 777 challenge features an interview with his wife Debb, who admits she’s “totally and utterly” amazed at how he’s given up alcohol.

In exactly 90 days, West Brom runner Dave will take the first step in his historic attempt to become the first disabled athlete complete seven marathons in seven days on seven continents.

Preparation is gruelling – as we reported yesterday, Sunday’s training regime involved running two half marathons in one day (see link here)

There are also major changes to his diet, as a result of which Dave has lost a stone.

As our interview with Debb proves, none of this would be possible without strong back up from his family.
