Oh no. Birmingham’s trailing behind Manchester in another league table. Pete Millington has the latest tale of woe.

According to a poll published by Mischief PR in London the other day, people in the Birmingham 'region' (sorry Leek and Whitchurch but we're all in this together) are the third worst in the country at finishing off DIY jobs.

But as if that's not bad enough, we have apparently been beaten by Manchester in 1st place and Edinburgh in 2nd.

The posh speaking Edinburgh citizens, who usually win all the awards for having the UK's favourite accents are better than us at ignoring bathroom tiling and paint jobs, whilst those dreaded Mancs, who for years have been trying to steal our coveted second city crown, are now lousier than us at fixing wonky shelving and replacing shower caps.

Chelmsford came in at 9th.

So when the radiators require balancing out on Boxing Day, just remember, we've got a reputation to keep up, we can't have those Mancs beating us at everything .... just relax, have a Quality Street and flick those channels one more time!
