Can we really believe facts and figures put out by the Government?
We were told to anticipate a few thousands of migrant workers from
Eastern Europe and half a million turn up!
The population of the United Kingdom purports to be 60 million: but
now another million and a half have been found, making our population
nearer 62 million.
How many are actually unemployed? A million are claiming job
seekers' allowances; but the real unemployment figure
is over FIVE million if one totals all the other types of benefits
now being claimed.
The cruellest deception is being worked on pensioners. The State
pension is linked to the Consumer Price Index, which officially rose
by 2.4% in July. Pensioners know how the costs of gas and electricity
have risen: not by 2.4% but by 64%. The Chancellor does well out
of the new higher fuel prices because VAT goes up with the basic cost.
Every one knows Council Tax has risen more than inflation every
year, leaving those on modest incomes worse off.
How does it come about that the Price Index has only risen by 2.4%?
Well, it gives weight to many items not purchased by mature people
such as imported electronic goods and computer games
Pensioners are victims of a fraudulent Consumer Price Index, which
fails to reflect the true costs of living.
