GRAND SEND OFF FOR BLIND DAVE

Blind Dave Heeley has been given a “grand” send off by his local Gardeners Club in West Bromwich ahead of his seven day, seven marathon, global challenge. Earlier this week, regulars held a fundraising night which raised more than £1,000.

The club, in Bromford Lane, is Dave’s local, and members have already contributed hundreds of pounds to the cause of Guide Dogs For the Blind – but they surpassed themselves on Wednesday with a night of live music which packed out the venue.

Dave and his guide runner Mad Mac (Malcolm Carr) head out to the Falklands next weekend to acclimatise ahead of their first marathon on April 7.
