BLIND DAVE’S NEW 777

22-05-2008

Fresh from completing his seven day, seven marathon global marathon challenge, West Brom runner Dave Heeley is now planning another 777 expedition – seven pubs in seven towns in seven hours.

His latest madcap venture is another Guide Dogs fundraiser, and takes place on Sunday June 1st, starting at Cagneys/The Old Mill Ryding Lane , West Bromwich.

Dave said, “The idea came from Anthony Melia the manager of Cagneys and I said I was up for it as long as I didn’t have to pay for the beer.

"We've had side bet, and whoever comes second has to pick up the bill - and that isn't going to be me."

Anthony does have one advantage - unlike Dave who’ll be running with his guide Mad Mac, he’ll be travelling on the Black Country tour bus.

Dave and Mac, on the other hand, will be accompanied by an entourage of cyclists who’ll be trying to slow down the traffic.

Back at Cagneys after the challenge will be a barbecue, singing and dancing, auction and a general good time

Anyone who wants to help out on this madcap adventure is welcome to contact [email protected] - and all are welcome to join in on any part of the route (or even all of it).
