West Brom running hero Blind Dave Heeley and his sighted guide Mad Mac are now more than halfway through their seven marathon global challenge, having completed the Sydney leg of their jaunt. Now it's on to Dubai.

Wife Debb who's stayed back home to look after Dave's three kids in the Black Country said, "I spoke to him last night as he was just about to start. It was 9.30 Wednesday our time, but for Dave it was 6.30 on Thursday morning.

"It does my head in to think about it, so I don't know what it's doing to Dave's body. But he was in good spirits, and sounding a lot brighter than he was a couple of days ago."
