CYRILLE, MORLEY, BOYDEN LINED UP FOR BLIND DAVE LAUNCH

16-02-2008

Albion hero Cyrille Regis, Villa European Cup legend Tony Morley and award-winning broadcaster Malcolm Boyden have all promised to turn out at The Hawthorns next Thursday for the official launch of Blind Dave Heeley’s seven marathon challenge.

Although Stirrer readers have known about the Black Country runners’ exploits for many months, his backers at Guide Dogs for the Blind want an official event to mark the countdown to the expedition – and where better than his local footy ground in West Brom?

In the latest of our exclusive weekly Stirrer podcasts, Dave tells us that Big Cyrille, Tony Morley and Boyden will all be there – along with a couple of surprise guests.

He also reveals the full extent of his current training schedule – which involves running 20 miles every other day.

In April, Dave and his running guide Malcolm “Mad Mac” Carr will run seven marathons in seven days on seven continents to raise funds for Guide Dogs For the Blind. To make a contribution, go to www.justgiving.com/7mm.
