BOB LAMB

03-07-2008

68 Cambridge Road

Birmingham is full of unsung heroes and interesting folk, each with their own stories that help shape the history of this great city. Armed with little more than a portable recorder and his scooter, Martin Mullaney travels the suburbs interviewing its residents - this time musical icon Bob Lamb.

Instrumental to the careers of UB40 and Duran Duran, Lamb started a recording studio in his bed-sit in Moseley, now a newly refurbished property.

Affectionately known as the 'Home of the Hits', 68 Cambridge Road is where the recordings of UB40 and early Duran Duran were made.

In this fascinating insight, Bob talks to Mullaney about the early days of his recording and music producing career.
